Beer at Joe’s header image 2

I am going to jab you in the eye with my extreme beer

Update: Oops – NY Times doesn’t have a Friday wine section – SF Chronicle does…maybe I have destroyed too many brain cells. Oh well, it still is good press for beer.

I have a Wednesday ritual. Walk to the bus, get on the bus and go to the train, then go buy a New York Times (food section Wednesday of course). After that, I ruffle through the newspaper recycling bin in the train station. I try to find the SF Chronicle food section and the Oakland Tribune. Sometimes I can even snag a Contra Costa Times. Yesterday, in my morning haze, the tattoo clad beer punk stared out at me from the front page of the times.

Overall an OK article. We could all argue what beers they missed and if they went into the tasting with preconceived notions (they did and they talk about it), but in the end I think its great to see such a prominent beer article in the times on a Wednesday, food day, not on a Friday which is wine day. Also they picked as one of their favorite big hop beers a beer that I love. When oh when will Dogfish Head 90 minute IPA be available in the bay area! I love that the Dogfish Head PR machine already has a press release out.

William Brand of Oakland Tribune beer column fame wrote about the Dogfish Head 90 min IPA just the other day. Check it out. http://www.beernewsletter.com/blog/?p=676

Thanks Mario – I just saw that – I am going to really try and get to the bistro double IPA event. Should be a rip-roaring good time.
