Little Opal at Churchkey

Tonight at Churchkey, our newest local beer bar on Grant Street, they will be tapping kegs of Firestone Walker’s Little Opal. According to the website, Little Opal is the first of four limited releases and “Each release will consist of less than 100 kegs and be available to select accounts throughout California.” We had Little Opal at Slow Food Nation last autumn–it’s a low alcohol (4.3%) saison that I remember loving.Little Opal at Slow Food

Little Opal starts flowing at 5 p.m. and goes until it runs out. Come and get it before it’s gone–I don’t think I’ve ever had anything from Firestone Walker I didn’t love.

UPDATE: We were the first customers in–this beer is the best proof that light beer does not have to be tasteless. I could drink it all night. We got to talk with Ben, the bartender, and Jason, the owner, who pointed out to us that other than them, we were the first two people in California to get this special release of Little Opal. Awesome.
